Class levels
Have you ever wondered what the difference is between the levels, and the class. Have you ever wondered if you should try a new one? Maybe this will help-
Intro: Especially for new students to Iyengar yoga classes. Typically students will be in this class for 5 weeks.
Improver’s: For those who have completed at least 5 classes of intro or who have a little previous experience of Iyengar yoga. Typically students will be in this class for, between 5 and 10 weeks. You do not need to complete improver’s before moving to level 1.
Level 1: For those who have completed at least 5 weeks of intro and or improver’s level. Typically students will be in this class for around 6 months before moving to level 2.
Level 1/2: For those who feel they are ready to move on from level 1, but not quite ready for level 2. Typically students will be in this class for around 6 months. You do not need to complete this level before moving to level 2.
Level 2: For those who have about 12 months experience and are looking for a slightly stronger class. Typically students will be in this class for around 12 months.
Level 3: For those who have at least 2 years experience.
Level 4: A stronger class for those with 2 years + experience
Mens class: This class is suitable for all men, beginners and those with some experience. You do not need to attend intro classes before hand, but this class is a great option for any man who has finished intro and is looking for a different class.
General level: As the name suggests, this class is open to and is suitable for all levels!
Yoga Gently: For those who are looking a more gentle stretch. Fri yoga gently is also open to post natal women. Babies are welcome to attend!
Your teacher is the best guide as to whether you are ready to move up a level, so always ask for their advice. We are only too happy to help 🙂
