Workshop with International Advanced Teachers
For Friday 26th – Sunday 28th May 2017 we have the pleasure of welcoming back US Teachers Mary Obendorfer & Eddy Marks to iYOGA Dublin!
Mary & Eddy are Senior Iyengar teachers certified at the Advanced level with particular interest in Remedial Yoga. We at iYOGA Dublin first encountered Eddy Marks when Geeta Iyengar recommended to Teresa Lewis that she contact Eddy for guidance, when she was teaching special focus/ remedial classes at the studio – there started a detailed and generous correspondence from Eddy which we have followed and students have benefited from 🙂 So it is with great enthusiasm that we welcome back both Eddy & Mary to Ireland and the studio.
Mary & Eddy have studied with the Iyengars in India 15 times and spent a year from 2003-2004 and a half year in 2009 studying in India with the Iyengars. They adhere strictly to BKS Iyengar’s methodology and continue their education by studying in India with the Iyengars.
Together they own and direct the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of San Diego (est. 1979) & conduct teacher trainings, workshops, and yoga vacations around the world. Eddy has taught at the Yoga Journal & Asia Yoga conferences. With the guidance of Mr Iyengar, he was the first to introduce yoga for cardiac rehabilitation which was a great success. Mary was one of the few people invited to the Back Bend intensive given directly by Mr. Iyengar. She also documented with Dr. Mary Schatz Mr. Iyengars therapeutic yoga. Times (are indicative and subject to slight change): Friday 6:30pm – 9 pm ; Saturday 9am -4pm ; Sunday 10am – 2 pm ~ Friday eve will focus on Asana ; Both Saturday & Sunday will include a morning Pranayama practice , followed by Asana Practice;
Cost : €140 (€120 for DIYI members; €100 for unwaged DIYI members ) :: Deposit of €50 or full payment before 1st May
