Drawn from the ideas in Myla and Jon Kabat-Zinn’s book “Everyday Blessings: The Inner Work of Mindful Parenting” and Marshall Rosenberg’s “Non-Violent Communication” among others, this workshop will explore with participants, the challenges faced by parents today in raising children mindfully.
Participants will learn short mindfulness practices that will enable them to be more fully present and supportive to their children as they face the increasing challenges of finding their feet in today’s world. We will also explore how we can mindfully navigate the inevitable tensions between parent and child as they grow towards greater independence.
The workshop will support parents in managing their own feelings when faced with challenging parent-child interactions.
There will be a break for lunch, which can be bought locally or people can bring a packed lunch. Tea and coffee provided.
