Yoga is a wonderful , holistic way to “find” your body again post pregnancy. It will tone and strengthen the body as well as calming the mind and providing a restful rejuvenating practice which is so important in this initial months after your baby is born.
Start your practice back slowly – after 8 weeks. For the first 2 months you rest and practice savasana (relaxation). Then begin to build the physical asana up – avoiding strong twists and back bends until at least 6 months after delivery. From then on you can practice most asana. Though if the delivery is by caesarean you need to wait for the wound to heal before starting into a physical practice.
See the class time table for times of classes. There are special post natal yoga classes and you are also welcome to join the womens yoga class and any of the general yoga classes.
