Qigong Classes in iYoga

Qigong

An invitation to discover Qigong

Qigong is not science. It has to do with wisdom. The wisdom of how to be in the world”. (quote by Árpád Romándy from a talk given at the Ritten Seminar – Sept 2015).

The Chinese see the human person as a system of patterns of moving Qi. The background to Qigong is the ancient philosophical and medical concept of Qi as the energy and information of life. It is the smooth flow and balanced interaction of energies that comprise a person’s health. Qigong provides a simple way to integrate mind, breath and body in a series of ordinary, slow, quiet, still and moving exercises that can help to develop one’s awareness and sensitivity to the flow of Qi and open the innate potential of the whole person. In practicing qigong you use the various exercises to find quietness in movement. Qi starts to move in quietness and when Qi starts to move according to its own natural path it does something beneficial for the body. Starting to do Qigong together as part of a small group is one of the easiest ways of learning what Qigong is all about and experiencing it for yourself.
